Structural features and drying principle of spin flash dryer

Flash drying is an effective and efficient method of removing material surfaces or binding moisture, and spin flash dryers use this process to continuously dry viscous and non-viscous slurries, filter cakes and high viscosity liquids. The wet cake is granulated and fluidized, instantaneously undergoing heat and mass exchange, and the dried material is collected as a powder product in a collector.


Spin flash dryers are typically carried out in a stirred fluidized bed system that acts as a rotor to break the block and hot air enters at a relatively high rate to create the action of dynamically drying and decomposing the product. Fresh air is drawn in through the hot air generator as the inlet to the drying chamber is tangential to allow swirling air to be drawn into the dryer.


The hot air generator can be a liquid, solid or gaseous fuel. The feed screw pushes the material into the drying chamber; the drying chamber has a rotor driven from the bottom; the rotor has a specially designed scraper and shredder for breaking up the bulk material into smaller pieces. When fine powder particles in the air are brought to the top of the rotary flash dryer, the classifier sorts them to the desired size.


Since the spin flash dryer has a larger diameter of the particles returning to the chamber, and the fine particles are finally collected with the air through the reverse pulse bag filter, the powder therein achieves almost all of the recovery.
